Table Saw Techniques

In this 4-hour Saturday or two-night workshop, we focus on the set-up and safe use of the table saw. You’ll learn about the various parts and functions of the machine, how to select and install saw blades, how to set up the machine for different applications, and how to safely rip and crosscut the wood. You will get a lot of practice with different cuts; this is definitely a hands-on workshop!

If you’ve never used a table saw and are a little nervous about it, you will be in good company. We often teach people who have little to no experience with power tools, and we will patiently help you until you are safe and comfortable.

Note that this workshop is part of our Basics Bundle. If you sign up for it with Wood Theory and Milling Rough Lumber, you get a discount!

Skills Learned

Selection and installation of blades, proper use of the guard and fence, how to set up the machines, and how to rip and cross-cut.
