Workshop Description
Learn the proper use of hand tools (including saws, chisels and planes) to cut dovetail and mortise & tenon joints, followed by time to practice the techniques. And trust us, this takes practice! You’ll also learn how & when to use this type of joinery in furniture-building.
When the workshop ends, you’re welcome to buy a few Open Shop hours and practice under the guidance of the Hand Cut Joinery instructor, who also runs Open Shop.
Students must bring a set of bench chisels, a dovetail saw, marking gauge and a small square, and optionally bring a hand plane, marking knife, coping saw, and/or bevel gauge.
We highly recommend you first take our one-day Sharpening Hand Tools workshop.
