Introduce your child to the wonderful world of woodworking!
Kids in grades 4 – 6 will build one take-home project (featured in instructor Margaret Larson’s new book Wood Shop, available in stores and online in late November), as they learn how to:
- Use measuring tools and mark/calculate cuts
- Safely use a variety of hand tools
- Hand sand for a smooth finish
- Build critical thinking skills
- Improve hand-eye coordination
All materials (and ear/eye protection) are included. Class size is limited to 8, so sign up early.
After school program and private family lessons also available!
What You Learn
Use of measurement tools (including tricks to find the center of a board or square); proper use of hammers, screwdrivers, saws, clamps, and drills; hand sanding techniques.

Cost: $40 (includes materials)
Meeting Times: 1 Saturday, 9am – 1 pm
Please Wear: Sturdy shoes (no sandals), light layers, hair ties for long hair
